Cooper Cobra Radial G/T
The value sweet spot: long mileage warranty, solid wet grip, sane price.

BFGoodrich Radial T/A
Best wet and snow braking, quietest ride, longest tread life. Worth it if you keep the car.

About the 235/60R15 size
Two very different cars meet in this size. It was the factory tire on the 1982-1987 Camaro Z28 and Trans Am (P235/60R15 Goodyear Eagle GT) and the rear of the DeLorean's staggered set, and it is also the accepted radial for E60-15, the front tire on a 1970 Challenger T/A and an AAR Cuda. Those cars ran G60-15 at the rear: a measured G60-15 is 26.6 in tall, so 245/60R15 is the dimensional match and 275/60R15 is the wider modern rear most restorers actually fit. Raised white letters are standard, a redline is a Diamond Back conversion, and Coker sells bias E60-15 reproductions. Diameter is 26.1 in, so it is noticeably shorter than the 70-series tires on the same wheel and it will read fast on an unmodified speedometer. Ratings are S to H, under the original V.
The numbers mean: 235 mm section width, sidewall height 60 % of that width, and a 15-inch rim. Overall diameter works out to about 26.1 inches. Any replacement has to match all three, and the load index and speed rating on your door sticker must be met or exceeded. Our guide on reading a tire size walks through it.

Frequently asked questions
How much do 235/60R15 tires cost?
Expect $105–$130 per tire for a budget brand, $135–$180 for a mid-range tire like the Cooper Cobra Radial G/T, and $185–$285 for a premium tire like the BFGoodrich Radial T/A. Add roughly $15 to $45 per tire for mounting and balancing.
What vehicles use 235/60R15 tires?
235/60R15 is original equipment on Chevrolet Camaro Z28 (1982-1987), Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (1982-1986), Dodge Challenger T/A (1970, E60-15 front), Plymouth AAR Cuda (1970, E60-15 front) and DeLorean DMC-12 (1981-1983, rear), among others. Always confirm with the sticker inside your driver's door, because trim levels and wheel packages can change the size.
What is the best 235/60R15 tire?
For most drivers our mid-range pick, the Cooper Cobra Radial G/T, is the sweet spot of price and tread life. If you keep the vehicle a long time or drive in heavy rain and snow, the BFGoodrich Radial T/A is worth the extra. On a tight budget the Milestar Streetsteel is a sound choice.
Can I replace just one or two 235/60R15 tires?
On a front- or rear-wheel-drive car, yes: replace in pairs on the same axle and put the newer pair on the rear. On all-wheel-drive vehicles most makers want all four replaced together, or a new tire shaved to match, because a difference in circumference strains the drivetrain.
